Calliope likes the pickleball craze, guava and Christmas cactus. She hates Harry Styles and people who use air quotes. "THE BEETLE SOCIETY" This series features beetles and scarabs from my imagination. They may resemble real species, but any entomologist might have a coronary over the creative mixing and matching going on here. Each beetle has a personality, a name, and a list of likes and dislikes written on the back of the ACEO. Meet Reginald, who loves fast vintage cars; Zebbie, who despises potato vodka; Mabel, who hates excessive exclamation points in texts; Beda, who likes Mabel; and Orlando, who has a bone to pick with Kant's run-on sentences.  Metallic watercolor accents give each insect depth and a bit of sparkle. I tried to show restraint—but as a glitter girl, I may have indulged here and there.
