Peacock Cichlids are from the genus Aulonocara Regan, 1922. Aulonocara known as simply Peacocks come from lake Malawe from East Africa. Their genus branches off into about 22 species. The species produce striking colors and patterns. They are very sought after in the freshwater aquarium trade and easy to breed and cultivate in captivity. Here I depict two variations…a true blue and yellow and a hyper colored rainbow version. I wish the later to be true…that would make a great conversation piece.
