Getting the details ready.

This special ACEO is made using photographic negatives layered over each other, exposed to the sun with cyanotype chemicals, then developed in my darkroom (the bathroom). The bottom layered image is Neil Armstrong's boot print on the moon, and was taken July 20, 1969. The top image is of the Wright Brothers first flight at Kill Devil Hills, NC, on Dec 17, 1903. The last photo shows the photographic chemicals being applied to paper- a mix of potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate. These chemicals react to UV light, in this case from the sun, and develop the rich Prussian blue cyanotype is known for. My family watched the moon landing, with commentary by Walter Cronkite, and I've stood on the windy sand dunes at Kill Devil Hills many times. Finding a way to celebrate these two iconic moments in the history of flight was really exciting for me. The ACEO was printed on Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag paper. It's signed and titled on the back. I'll take care of shipping.
