Peyote pods are a type of cacti that when ingested cause the body to first be poisoned temporarily before being followed by hallucinations that are meant to show the true self, the ancestors view you, and a path to follow in facing both truth and enlightenment. It is meant to help with victims of trauma who have difficulty opening up about inner struggles as well as an addiction suppressant for those afflicted with lust or gluttony (in which the nausea is meant to cleanse) Part of the Nagualism-Spellbook series featuring four indigenous Southwest American & Central American traditions some left to the past while others still practiced today.
