I’m a sucker for the flower section at Trader Joe’s, and this little painting started with a bouquet I brought home. I painted the loose mix of sunny yellow flowers, soft blue and white blooms, and leafy greens just as they sat in their glass vase—bright, a little wild, and making an ordinary day feel prettier. This original miniature floral painting is a tiny snapshot of one of life’s inexpensive little luxuries: grocery store flowers on the table.
