Getting the details ready.

The Chinle Wash is a place on the Navajo lands near Canyon de Chelly. My son fell into the river here, so it has a place in my memory. A muddy and terrifying place. This painting is oil on a substrate of Arches oil paper and kozo paper. Signed and titled on the back The final pictures show my fancy artist tools of paper towels and Q-tips, and also a portrait of the artist on the porch, waiting for the paint to dry. (and yes, I knit those socks).
