Bottoms Up

Bottoms Up is card two of three in my Bee-Hinds collection, whose workplace policy is: “We’re working. No one asked you to look.” This bumblebee has gone completely headfirst into a pale purple flower in pursuit of pollen, leaving its fuzzy yellow backside as the most prominent part of the operation. It's an effective working position. Whether it's a flattering one was apparently never part of the job description. After becoming aware of the audience, Bottoms Up has issued one simple reminder: “Eyes up. This is strictly professional.” I love the accidental comedy in the way bees work. They're busy doing something genuinely important while somehow ending up in positions that make it very difficult for the rest of us to behave maturely.
