Getting the details ready.

This expressive abstract landscape is part of a series of the landscapes of New Mexico. The oils used are R and F oilsticks and Gamblin oils; the varnish is a coating of beeswax. This painting is done on Arches oil paper. For me, color=emotion and landscape=peace. I could not begin to replicate the wonderous colors of nature. Instead, I choose colors for their emotional qualities and hope they reflect my feelings about these landscapes. Signed and titled on the back. The last picture shows how I keep oil paintings drying under a fan without blowing away!
