Edith Schmidt is a woodland storyteller working in miniature. From her Virginia studio, she paints tiny worlds filled with hedgehogs, mice, raccoons, possums, toadstools, and acorns. Each piece is created by hand — often no larger than a playing card — and meant to feel like something discovered in the moss rather than made at a desk. Her work blends years of digital design experience with a love for slow, traditional painting. Layer by layer, she builds soft light, texture, and quiet emotion.
