Steeped at Home

Steeped at Home is card four of four in my Uninvited Tea Guests collection, whose general policy is: “We weren’t invited. Your security was embarrassing.” This frog may have arrived as a guest, but somewhere between claiming the pink teacup and hanging a framed lily pad on the wall, the visit quietly became something much more permanent. There was no announcement, no discussion, and certainly no request for permission. The decorating simply began. When asked how long it plans to stay, Steeped at Home makes its position very clear: “I live here now. Try not to make it awkward." I love the idea that this character didn't merely make itself comfortable, it fully committed. The tiny framed lily pad was the detail that made me realize the cup was no longer temporary accommodations. It had become home.
