The Obsidian mirror is a holy relic used for divination & connection to one’s darkest self. The god Tezcatlipoca (Lord Smoking Mirror in English) is the deity of Nagualism which focuses on the darkest parts of the self, facing your demons and accepting them before beginning the path to self-improvement and change. While the more common Black Mirror is made of painted glass, Obsidian disks are sourced from volcanic glass that naturally turns black and was a symbol for shapeshifters, the outcast, the lost and those without belonging/rejected by their surroundings who found Tezcatlipoca and with him belonging through self discovery, laughter, releasing of the ego and balanced view of creation and destruction. Part of the Nagualism-Spellbook series featuring four indigenous Southwest American & Central American traditions some left to the past while others still practiced today.
