Copal is a type of resin found in Oaxaca that when placed on ignited charcoal and sand/stones will burn a pine-like fragrance that is used to connect to the spirit world or cleanse a territory. Part of the Nagualism-Spellbook series featuring four indigenous Southwest American & Central American traditions some left to the past while others still practiced today.
