Under the Microscope began as an intuitive exploration of color, pattern, and spontaneous mark-making. Created with acrylic markers and black ink on watercolor paper, the composition evolved organically without a predetermined subject. As the layers developed, abstract forms emerged that suggest leaves, seeds, shells, eyes, and other organic elements, inviting multiple interpretations rather than a single narrative. Bold blues and teals contrast with vibrant pinks and touches of yellow, creating a rhythmic flow that carries the eye across the surface. The repeating motifs evoke both the microscopic and the botanical, blurring the line between nature and imagination. By allowing instinct to guide the process, the work celebrates discovery, encouraging viewers to slow down, make their own connections, and uncover familiar forms hidden within the abstract landscape.
