Safety First

Safety First is card one of three in my Backyard Snorkel Enthusiasts collection, a group united by one unfortunate reality: “We brought the gear. The pool brought disappointment.” Safety First arrived completely prepared. Goggles? Check. Snorkel? Check. Appropriate level of enthusiasm? Debatable. Unfortunately, no amount of preparation could compensate for the kiddie pool’s complete failure to provide anything resembling actual depth. After assessing the situation, this very prepared little chick reached the only reasonable conclusion: “I came prepared. The pool did not.” I loved the idea of these characters taking backyard snorkeling far more seriously than the circumstances warranted. Safety First isn't embarrassed by the equipment.
