Using ACEOs to Experiment with Transformation

I mostly work in cyanotype and oil painting, though I love to experiment and learn new methods and materials. What I'm looking for is something I haven't seen before, but also something that my eye or brain recognizes. That's why abstract landscape and botanicals. Most of the time I push it too far. I start with the materials and begin to layer, adding a new technique or tool and watching what happens next. I wait for an image or composition to emerge. Experimenting without overthinking the outcome is the best way for me to work. I am looking for something that I haven't seen before. That's why I'm drawn to abstraction. I'm looking for a new way to see something familiar.
